Found out the inside scoop. Obviously corporate wasn't too pleased with the press it received, but the woman who is mentioned in the article actually wasn't the one pitching the fit. The reason her name is thrown around is because it was her license plate they took down. She was apparently fine with waiting, but one of her guests got irate and went on the heel/light smashing escapade. The woman that was mentioned (Amy I believe) contacted our corporate office immediately and offered to pay us back for any damage that was caused. So all in all it was a nice result with no hard feelings, but sadly made some fairly large press coverage.
Yeah, that's why I traded for Hanley. I needed SB and R. I'm surprised more people didn't veto it though. Only one person did. I was going to explain that we both made the trade knowing Hanley would just be a "rental" since there is no way I thought I could afford his $49 tag for next season. It turns out that I could. Joe made the trade with me though thinking that Hanley would be thrown back into the player pool next season. So, that's what I'm going to do. Besides, $49 is too much no matter who the player is and whether I can afford it or not.
I do think it will come down to my average though. I think we'll be first, second, or third in every category by the end of it with the exception of that average. The strange thing is that people looking at the league might think we're the only two doing anything, but if you look at the transactions, everyone is still doing their thing. You had a good team from the beginning and I got lucky that Weeks and Young took off while picking up Bautista.
