A long way indeedSince we just beat DWtR in honestly the toughest game i have ever played in and since i now find myself and my team in the championship series of the pro league i just cant help but look back at how far I've come as a player since my grifball career began a year ago in this league.I started out as a randy looking to join a team at the end of the spring league last year. I ended up getting on team With Bowman 143 SilkyJohnson Blackjacks Rose and Romulous Monroe to form The Elite Spartans in the first rookie league. We beat Status Quo in a bum rush game (with the help of Fox and Sammi from the Four Horsemen) in only my third serious game. We went on to make it to the Final Four only to be knocked out by The Rain Makers who went on to win it all. My decision to split from The Elite Spartans was brought about for many reasons. I decided to join up with the two people that I looked up to at the time, Fox and Sammi on Anonymous. T3hfox and Hachrt were on the team as well and in our first game of the season we beat the runners up from last season, the Zoo Monkies. we then went on to the playoffs only to get knocked out in the second round Separate Intelligence. After that season Sammi had lost interest in grifball so I was going to take over the job as the starting runner for the team we picked up TurbanEspy and AllegedHornet for the upcoming H3P League. We won the majority of our games in that league coming in with the 2nd best record over all. The spring league began with us coming into the season considered as one of the top 5 teams in the league. After our Loss to Cheap Ass Gamers in a week one match up everything seemed to fall apart. we just didn't seem to have the same drive we did coming into the season. It was my worst single season record to date and the only season so far that I have failed to make playoffs Since Anonymous had pretty much disbanded with Fox disappearing and Hornet and turban leading for their other teams I found myself teamless once more. I ended up joining up with Turban for another season after a twist of fate lead Power Outage in need of a few players. I joined up and soon became the teams main runner. we went on to win first place in our division with only two losses. we came into the playoffs with the number 2 seed and had to play SYLAL for our first game. Game one was an epic hour and sixteen minute long game that is currently the longest in league history. we came out on top 5-4 and went on to win the next game to win the series. We then had to face up against DWtR in round two. we took game one but they came back in game two leading to game three. Game 3 of that series was by far the most difficult game I have ever played in. Never before was I in a game were i knew one missed kill could lead to a loss. My hat goes off to the members of DWtR. I now sit in the championship match up to face either +1 Zing or CiTHC for the championship. So far i have averaged 4.78 goals in every game I have played in this season. Its been an incredible journey from starting out as a randy rookie tank to being a runner that can compete with the best of the pro league.Thanks to everyone I have ever played with as a teammate and to all of my friends I have made within the grifball community. |
