If you have a dual core system...What's your CPU temp? This is more specifically for people with AMD cores.I have an AMD 64 X2 6000+ Windsor, with idle temps of 49-50 C, and goes up to 64 C under load, like games (Torchlight running windowed). Here's where it gets a little confusing for me. A Google search gives me pages that say the operating temp is between 55-63 C, which I'm in right now. Fine. However, the AMD website says the MAX temp is 55-63. Given that AMD is the manufacturer, I'm more inclined to believe them, however, I don't think that's the max temp before the chip fries. Consultation of forums turns up users with temps around this range too. The other day I had my fans all on low and my system temp spiked to 49 C under load and CPU went to 70, at which I started to get nervous and started shutting down extraneous programs (Chrome, IE8, I have those up for work). However, system didn't become unstable. It was after that that I turned up my system fans (I have to do this manually, and do it with the changing weather), and I haven't spiked so high since then, which means that that specific instance (49/70) was due to not enough cool air into and hot air out of the case due to the lowered fan speeds. It's been fine at those low speeds due to the cooler weather of winter. I'm trying to learn the ins and outs of the temp for this CPU because it's relatively new for me. I've consulted various sources, and I'm probably just being neurotic about it. |
