There would be 2 charges for that: 1-if the incident happened in a public area, disorderly conduct (this is basically a catch all law for non-compliance with a police officer and his orders) 2- Criminal Trespass. Criminal Trespass is when you are told or asked to leave a specified area and either don't leave or come back later when not granted permission.
These are arrestable offenses in most states, but both are usually misdemeanors. Typically, these offenses are fine only, or may include community service, probation, or even up to 1 year in jail. Though with all the over crowding in our jails, and if its a first offense, typically its just a fine only thing...
You have every right in the world to ask the officer why he is asking you to leave, but its usually best to comply first and ask later if you are at that time still free...
