Absencehttp:rvb.roosterteeth.com...It's listed in my favourites bar at the top of my Firebox browser. 7th along, it sits right in the middle, looking at me with...well the icon is that red, wind-up pair of teeth... Anyway, it's been a hell of a long time since I last glided my pointer up and clicked. I've been amazingly busy lately. Back in March, finding out that the girl I'd had my eye on for the last 6 months liked me, made me feel pretty amazing inside, but I also knew I was bound to lose any "free" time. But like any chimp with half a brain, I talked to her, asked her out, and that was that. Bye, bye alone, "free", time. Hello 2 a.m. on the phone and Instant Messenger, lying on the grass in the sun, standing barefoot on the beach in a storm at midnight, and even later nights in the softest bed I've ever slept in. I've been in Japan for about 6 weeks. Sharpening my Japanese, making some great friends, and just generally having a good time. It was a little sad leaving there, but I had my girl to come back to, so I was actually looking forward to coming back (Japan is a great place, but America is America...besides, that typhoon and earthquake, and the humid weather made me miss the simple New England weather.). So now, I'm back in my house. My cousins (haven't seen them for a long time), are coming to visit - they should be arriving in a couple of hours. It's their first time to America...I think I might put on an American accent and scare them a little... =) we'll see. Weather here right now is rainy and cloudy (I'm not complaining!), so I'll probably be playing a fair amount of video games until it brightens up (something else that got sacrificed...my last Halo 2 game online is listed as March...I think the 22nd, and I've most likely descended from my semi-noob skill level to plain old newbie, headless chickenery). Sadly I don't actually get to see my girl (I say "my" girl...makes it sound like I own her. But I don't know how else to say it...) for a few more weeks. She's busy traveling and studying (makes me feel like a bum, but I think I'm allowed a few days to relax), but hopefully it won't be too long. Phone calls to America are also a lot cheaper from America, rather than Japan, so at least I get to slow down, if not halt, the drain on my pocket. =) But it's worth it. Naturally I have't seen any RedVsBlue episodes for ages either... My friends list is looking rather sparse, but I've only got myself to blame for that... Conrad |
