I don't know that the program is all too competitive to get into, but it depends on the strength of your portfolio.

Cool, man. If you're going to be living on campus, it would be much cheaper to come to Canada, and you would get a better reputation out of it. York is one of a half-dozen universities up here that has the equivalent of an Ivy League education. That being said, it's also a fumbling mess of bureaucracy.

York is the more artsy of the two universities here. If you're serious about York, let me know, I think I know a couple of people who went through the writing program, they might be able to help. In general, though, those courses are best learned at college instead of universities. If you lived in Toronto, I would tell you to forget York and head right to The Second City course instead.
