Reading recommendation - The Winter Book by Tove Jansson, a beautiful collection of stories, all of them from the half mystical world around you when you're a child, when the world seemed so very full of magic and possibilities and half whispered secrets.
If you're looking for a good fantasy book then i suggest Sabriel by Garth Nix. Its about a young women who must take over her father's job, which happens to be binding the dead and making sure they don't rise again. It's an absolutely fantastic book, as are its two sequels. For a SciFi/Humor read, i would suggest Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams. By far one of the funniest books out there and remains one of my favorites. Hope this helps in your lack of reading material!
