Life is normal

How long can you make a journal about nothing? I'm still working two jobs, getting a total of 30-40 hours a week. Right now, I'm saving up to buy a new computer to replace the one that died 13 months ago. For those of you who are interested, I've been using my roommate's computer for the last four months.

Despite being out of school, I still see friends from both high school and college pretty regularly. I think that's the only thing keeping me sane right now. I don't really make enough money to start saving for expensive things (other than my computer), and I haven't really been looking for new jobs recently. I'm still thinking about going back to school to get a degree in computer science. It would take me at least two more years, but it would put me in a career that is both interesting and attainable for me. I never really found something in the realm of physics that I could have considered a career, which is part of the reason I'm in the situation I'm in right now. However, I'm content at the moment to live in the now, taking each day as it comes.

I've fallen a little behind in my tv watching. Right now, I'm catching up on American Idol, but I'm pretty close to getting bored of it. I still really like Modern Family and Community, but nothing else really sticks out for me.

My sister is pregnant again. I get to be an uncle for a second time! Have I mentioned how much I love kids? My nephew is the cutest thing. Sometime, I'll try to get up a picture or two, but pictures can only say so much. He's very responsive for being 13 1/2 months old. My little brother taught him to make the sign for a touchdown. He doesn't even need to see it being done. He just hears the word "touchdown" and throws his hands up in the air. My sis and bro-in-law also taught him "shake your booty." Whenever they say it, he smiles and wiggles back and forth. I'm excited to watch him grow, and I can't wait until he actually recognizes me.

I don't know how many of you are baseball fans, but I'm pretty much obsessed. I understand how people can find it boring. I really don't like watching most baseball games, including some playoff games, but I absolutely love watching the Twins and playing fantasy baseball. Because of that, this is a very happy time for me, seeing as the baseball season is right around the corner. I think this year, I might try to find a softball league to join, so I can actually get out and play a little.

I feel like I get stuck eating a lot of the same things, unless I go out to eat. It's either a sandwich, frozen pizza, or pasta. Does anyone have any easy recipes for 1 (or up to about 4, since I can have leftovers)? I'm pretty picky, so finding recipes that I like might be tricky, but I could always alter them to my liking.

Well, I guess I did a pretty good job talking about nothing, so I won't bore you anymore. I'll leave you with a question. Did you give anything up for lent?

Yeah, I basically only had my major classes to finish once I transferred for the second time. Like I said, I was a com sci major. All of those credits basically became my gen ed and elective credits. I'm "only" graduating a half year behind most of my friends who are the same age as me, but It will theoretically be two whole semesters since I took two extra terms due to having trimesters where I am now. That isn't too bad. I mean, I literally wasted an entire year at UNL. I transferred zero credits from two semesters there. I didn't even put it on my application for Bellevue. So, it's basically the same amount of terms, but still...I'll be glad when I'm done.

I had Kansas winning it all. I also had Villanova in the final four. So, mine are literally dead as dead can be.

To be honest, I wish Paige or Katie would have left instead. but I'm still ok with it. She had a great voice, and that hair was so hot.

I'm also kind of glad Tim Urban stuck around. I don't know why people keep hating on him. It's like everyone I know is still stuck on his first Live performance. They don't seem to get that he's one of the only contestants that has been consistently improving every single week. And every week he thinks he's gonna leave and when it's not him he's so shocked. I respect that humility also.

I don't know, maybe I'm being too easy on him? What do you think?

(As an aside, Community and Modern Family rule!)

Do you want in a Razzball league? It's like anti-fantasy. The goal is to pick bad players. Bad players that will actually play. It's going to be set up like a roto league, but be with points instead of categories. It will be like three points for an at-bat, but minus one point for a single, minus two for a double, and so on. I haven't got the system out yet, but I'm about to create the league. I just need your email if you want in. If not, don't worry. I'm getting others and I just want at least ten.

There were a few other good ones. Heck, 300 wouldn't have been bad.

I agree, but it's better than almost any other movie we could watch in class that involves the Greeks or Romans.

It doesn't just know famous players. It just calculates the odds that it's going to be one of the more famous players. I assume it "guesses" the player that is the most "played." For instance, when I did John Bell Hood, his guess after twenty questions was General Lee. He then guessed Stonewall after thirty. After forty, his guess was General Longstreet. So, he progressively got more obscure, but he didn't get obscure enough. It does learn though. If you look at the "details," it lists the questions asked, the answer you gave, and the answer it would expect to guess the person you were thinking off. Most of the time, he's working off faulty info.

It's still sort of fun. He does get some really obscure ones once in a while. He got Gratch in thirty-eight questions. Gratch is a minor character in the Sword of Truth series. I was pretty impressed.

School mainly. I've just lost touch with RvB I guess. I should probably find some time to write a journal someday soon
