Life Lately
This past month has been super busy for me. I started a new job and been working full time when I'm not in classes, had to help coordinate people for my sister's wedding, and especially the reception and the aftermath of it, and school started up. One day I was working and was asked to fill in for another student assistant, who because of apartment complexes, etc. . . didn't have a place to live for about a month (that sucked for her). About a week into it, was offered the position, which would have me doing the shadow books for our college. This is pretty much what I want to get into when I finish my accounting degree and so I accepted it, cleared out my old office and moved to my new one. Worked for about 3 weeks doing 40 hours a week from 8-5. Now since school started, when I'm not in class, I'm up work, which is nice because I'm getting more hours each week!! :) My sister's wedding was awesome. Crazy good, but sooo chaotic. I'm so glad that I don't have to worry about the rest of my siblings getting married anytime soon. Though some of the things I learned from it were: 1. Make sure the people flying into town have things to do during down times. While this probably is understood, people in a strange town with really no transportation get bored and irritated quite easily. 2. Delegate. Have a few good friends/parents take control of getting people places, food, interacting with others, etc... They make good buffers and you don't have to worry about people bugging the bride/groom all the time. 3. Have a plan for everything, and make sure everyone knows the plan well ahead of time. This eliminates boredom, and lets people know who is doing what when instead of just a general idea for everything. 4. Take pictures when it's cool. I know everyone wants to see wedding pictures and it's a big day for the happy couple, but if you're in Texas do a Spring, or Fall wedding, even a winter wedding is fine. However with the groomsmen in black tuxes and the bridesmaids in dark dresses, it's not a fun event for anyone... Other than those things, like I said above, the wedding was awesome. Now back to studying and what not that has consumed my life for the time being. |
